The Gallery of Creation

When I've finished an artwork, or any creative piece, I genuinely want to share it with people—not because I think it's a masterpiece for the ages or because I consider myself the most skilled artist. Rather, it's because I'm incredulous that I had the opportunity and was instrumental in creating something that didn't exist before!

We all have been given this gift from God—it's part of being human—whether we call ourselves artists or not.

For me, creating comes from a place of joy and a deep desire to express that joy. It's as though there is an energy building within me that simply must find its way out. I want others to feel and experience this joy. And I can only hope that my art conveys at least a fraction of it, in some small way.

I like to imagine that God feels much the same—how much more joy and delight must be His! Even the most astonishingly beautiful and masterfully crafted painting pales in comparison to creating living, breathing creatures. To creating something from nothing. To creating souls made for eternity. To creating an entire world of diverse beauty.

To think—there is never a moment that God has ceased creating!

How stunning that you and I, every plant and animal, bird and tree, insect and stone—we are all a part of that song that began before memory. A song that will continue on long after we are gone from this life. How can I not feel wonder and awe at this reality?

Each day we have the gift of stepping out into the most stunning art gallery ever created. To spend time with priceless masterworks of astonishing variety. It's a dynamic installation, always offering us something new, and yet comfortingly familiar and homelike as well.

I hope you can take a moment today to step out into your own private room in the gallery of creation. Enjoy, my friend. Admission is free, and always holds the opportunity to encounter the Master Artist, even in the briefest of visits.
